Amey supports MOD capability with successful completion of RTCH Service Life Extension Project

Amey has successfully supported the completion of the Rough Terrain Container Handler (RTCH) Service Life Extension Project (SLEP), helping to sustain a critical heavy lifting capability for Defence operations across the UK.

The project has extended the operational life, safety and availability of the RTCH fleet through targeted refurbishment, repair and upgrades, ensuring it remains fit for purpose while longer-term capability decisions are developed.

By addressing serviceability challenges, the programme has improved fleet availability, reduced operational risk and ensured compliance with current engineering and safety standards.

Delivered through strong collaboration between Amey, Ministry of Defence (MOD) and delivery partners, the project demonstrates a value-driven approach to asset management – balancing immediate operational needs with future planning.
