Amey to trial and scale climate tech across the public estate with Sustainable Ventures
Amey has extended its strategic partnership with Sustainable Ventures, Europe’s leading climate tech growth partner, to identify, trial and scale climate technologies across the UK public estate.
Through the partnership, Sustainable Ventures will connect Amey with its network of more than 1,000 climate tech innovators, alongside investors, corporates and public sector organisations, helping accelerate the deployment of solutions that address climate challenges.
Amey will act as a bridge between these emerging climate tech innovations and the public sector, providing opportunities to test new technologies across its managed estate, which includes Defence, Education, Health, Justice and Nuclear facilities. Solutions that demonstrate value can then be scaled more widely, improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions and enhancing asset performance across areas such as smart buildings, retrofit and low-carbon infrastructure.
The partnership builds on Amey’s established sustainability approach, creating a clearer pathway from innovation to deployment and helping public sector organisations move faster from Net Zero ambition to tangible action.
Craig McGilvray, Managing Director for Amey’s Complex Facilities business, said: “We are excited to build on our partnership with Sustainable Ventures. This partnership is about bridging the gap between innovation and delivery. By working together, we can bring forward new technologies, test them in real-world environments and scale those that deliver meaningful results for our customers. This collaboration reflects a growing recognition that partnerships between corporates and the innovation ecosystem are critical to scaling climate solutions.”
Andrew Wordsworth, CEO and co-founder of Sustainable Ventures, said: “Sustainable Ventures de-risks collaboration between innovators and large organisations looking for commercial climate-tech solutions. Connecting pioneering climate tech with organisations that can deploy it at scale is essential to accelerating progress. Our partnership with Amey creates a strong platform to bring innovation into action across the public estate.”
