Amey Group reports strong performance for H1 2026

Amey Group delivered a strong first-half performance in 2026, supported by disciplined operational execution, continued work-winning momentum and progress against its medium-term growth strategy.

The Group is anchored in long-term, mission-critical infrastructure markets, where client demand is supported by structural drivers including network resilience, energy transition, defence readiness, public-sector estate modernisation and climate adaptation.

Amey remains focused on protecting and growing its core UK positions in transport infrastructure and complex facilities, while expanding selectively into higher-growth adjacent sectors including nuclear, defence, energy and climate resilience. Targeted international growth through consulting, operational and partnership-led models provides further diversification and strategic options.

At the end of H1 2026, the Group’s order book stood at £7.6bn (with further significant contract awards in Q3 of this year), providing strong revenue visibility, earnings resilience and a stable platform for disciplined growth. The quality and breadth of the order book reflect Amey’s ability to convert long-term client relationships into sustainable, cash-generative work in markets with high barriers to entry and enduring public value.

Within Complex Facilities, the Group mobilised its Workplace Services contract with Nuclear Restoration Services, providing facilities management and workplace maintenance across 17 nuclear sites and regional support offices. The mobilisation strengthens Amey’s position in the nuclear and energy sector, enhances exposure to long-term national infrastructure priorities and demonstrates the Group’s capability to deliver safely, securely and effectively in highly regulated environments. These capabilities are increasingly relevant to clients seeking partners with strong governance, risk management and responsible delivery credentials.

The Group also continued to develop its pipeline in defence and wider public infrastructure through its appointment to the Government Commercial Agency’s Construction Professional Services 2 framework for Defence, Public Sector and Environment. This supports Amey’s strategy to grow in sectors where technical assurance, resilience, security and sustainability are increasingly central to client decision-making.

In Transport Infrastructure, Amey was appointed to Transport for London’s Infrastructure Improvement Framework, supporting station upgrades, tram infrastructure and step-free access improvements across London. The framework aligns with the Group’s focus on infrastructure that improves accessibility, strengthens network performance and supports more sustainable urban mobility.

The Group also secured two Network Rail Eastern Region assessment contracts, supporting the safety, resilience and performance of critical rail infrastructure across the East Coast Main Line, Anglia, East Midlands and North & East routes. This work reinforces Amey’s role in maintaining essential transport assets and supporting the reliability and long-term resilience of lower-carbon public transport networks.

Amey further strengthened its rail consultancy pipeline through a multidisciplinary consultancy contract supporting the Leeds to Sheffield corridor as part of the Northern Powerhouse Rail programme. The appointment demonstrates the Group’s ability to support complex regional infrastructure programmes that can improve connectivity, unlock economic growth and contribute to more sustainable transport outcomes.

International growth continued in Ireland through Amey’s appointment to Transport Infrastructure Ireland’s Commercial, Claims Advisor and Professional Services framework. During the period, Amey also worked with Keolis through the KeolisAmey joint venture to prepare for mobilisation of the Dublin Luas operations and maintenance contract, which went live following the period end. These positions support a measured international growth strategy focused on markets where the Group can apply its transport expertise, partnership model and responsible delivery approach.

ESG considerations remain embedded in the Group’s growth strategy and client proposition. Amey continued to invest in services that respond to long-term client demand, including the expansion of its electric vehicle charging network through a Manchester pilot and continued progress in carbon management, social value and responsible procurement. Recognition through Sustainable Facilities Management Index Gold Accreditation and Rising Star recognition provides external validation of the Group’s progress and supports its ability to differentiate in markets where sustainability, social impact and governance standards are increasingly important to procurement and investment decisions.

Overall, the first half of 2026 demonstrated the resilience of Amey’s business model, the strength of its market positions and the relevance of its ESG-led capabilities to long-term client needs. Supported by a robust order book, disciplined bidding and ongoing investment in digital capability, decarbonisation, climate resilience and integrated service delivery, the Group is well positioned to deliver sustainable value for clients, communities, employees and investors over the medium term.
