Leadership appointments mark an important milestone in the commencement of Luas operations

KeolisAmey Luas has announced the appointments of Tom Joyner as Managing Director, and Jim Meade as Chairman, as the company prepares to commence operation of Dublin’s Luas light rail network on 1 September.

The appointments mark an important milestone as KeolisAmey begins a new chapter in the operation of one of Ireland’s most iconic public transport systems.

Tom Joyner joins KeolisAmey Luas with extensive leadership experience across rail, bus and transport operations, alongside a strong track record within the wider KeolisAmey organisation.

Most recently, Tom has held the position of CEO of Etihad Rail and Managing Director at both CrossCountry and Go-Ahead London.

As KeolisAmey Luas Managing Director, he will work closely with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), the National Transport Authority (NTA), employees and stakeholders to ensure a successful start to this contract, delivering a safe, reliable and customer focused service for Dublin whilst opening new pathways for colleagues to lead ongoing and future success.

Commenting on his appointment, Tom Joyner, Managing Director of KeolisAmey Luas, said:

KeolisAmey Luas has also announced the appointment of Jim Meade as Chairman, bringing significant experience in transport, infrastructure and business leadership. Jim was CEO of Iarnród Éireann for more than 7 years, capping a career of more than 40 years of service. As Chairman, Jim will provide strategic oversight and support the business as it delivers the contract and works with partners to enhance public transport services for the people of Dublin.

KeolisAmey Luas will assume responsibility for operating the network from 1 September and is focused on ensuring a smooth transition while maintaining the high standards of service that passengers expect.
