Amey welcomes next generation of infrastructure talent as Early Careers opportunities increase

Amey has welcomed more than 180 graduates, apprentices, degree apprentices and placement students as part of its continued investment in developing the next generation of infrastructure talent.

The intake reflects the continued growth of Amey’s Early Careers programme, with increased opportunities across a range of disciplines and a particular rise in technical roles such as engineering. The new starters join a wider Early Careers community of more than 550 colleagues across the business.

The new starters are joining teams across sectors including rail, highways, transport, defence, justice and local government. From engineering and project management to environmental services, commercial, finance and business support, they will have the opportunity to contribute to projects and services that make a tangible difference to communities across the country.

As part of Welcome Week, colleagues are taking part in face-to-face induction events across the UK, providing opportunities to learn about the business, meet senior leaders and build connections with peers from across the organisation.

The announcement follows further recognition of Amey’s reputation as an employer of choice, with the company recently ranked among the UK’s top 10 employers in Construction, Civil Engineering, Surveying and Property in the 2026 Cibyl UK School Leaver Survey.

From the interview process through to joining the business, everyone I have met has been welcoming, supportive and genuinely enthusiastic about what they do, which has made settling in feel really easy. It has also been great to meet other graduates who are starting out at the same time and to share that experience together.

“I was drawn to Amey because of the opportunity to work on sustainable infrastructure projects that have a real impact on communities. As an engineer, I am especially excited to take the skills I have developed through my studies and start applying them to live projects, while learning from experienced colleagues across the business. I know there is a lot for me to learn, but that is what makes the opportunity so exciting!”

Ivy Atchohe, Civil Engineering Degree Apprentice at Amey, said: “Welcome Week has been a great introduction to Amey. I have enjoyed connecting with all the new graduates and apprentices, while learning more about Amey’s values and the wide range of sectors the business supports.

“It is exciting to be starting my career as a Civil Engineering Degree Apprentice and I am looking forward to learning new skills, meeting new people and developing my experience as part of the programme.”

Building on the success of this year’s intake, Amey is already planning for further growth in 2027, with more than 260 Early Careers opportunities currently included within its workforce planning pipeline.
